Spooky Edition

I recall helping my co-workers with the crossword puzzles that appeared in the Laredo Times.  That was about fifteen years ago, when I was working at another organization.  We kept up with local news and daily puzzles, all while supporting our local paper.

I've noticed recently, however, that the price of subscribing to the Times has gone up.  And on top of that, I've seen that I've been charged twice in a month on three occasions this year.  I've listed below this year's charges to my account.

December 14 ($11.00)
January 6 ($11.00)          [23 days since last payment]
February 1 ($11.69)       [26 days since last payment]
February 25   ($12)                  [24 days since last payment]
March 22  ($12)                     [26 days since last payment]
April 18   ($12)                       [27 days since last payment]
May 12  ($12)                         [24 days since last payment]
June 8 ($12)                  [27 days since last payment]
June 30 ($12)                  [22 days since last payment]
July 26    ($12)                       [26 days since last payment]
August 22   ($12)                     [27 days since last payment]
September 12 ($12)                 [21 days since last payment]
October 5 ($14)                [23 days since last payment]
October 27 ($15)              [22 days since last payment]

I called the Times' office to inquire about my monthly charges, and it was explained to me that I'm assessed a fee every four weeks; that's why I noticed a charge twice in a month.  But when I count the days between payments, the intervals don't make sense.  They're shaving days off frequently as they take my money.

Apparently there's also an extra fee for the DIVINO magazine that comes in the Sunday edition every now and then.

I'm not expecting to get a satisfactory answer for this odd payment plan; it's Laredo after all.

I fear I may do away with my subscription if this continues.
