This weekend I spent some time with the in-laws. We managed to talk about several things: Hydraulic fracturing in Webb County; high school reunion playlists; plantar fasciitis; male emasculation from having to go see 'Water for Elephants' with your partner; and of course, the Spurs game.
Suddenly Laredo doesn't seem so bad when you can relate with loved ones on the topics of the day. Unfortunately it's Tuesday and it's hot as hell outside, and the price of gasoline isn't something to cheer about. The royal wedding might take our minds off of things, but like clockwork, there has to be a fly in the ointment; and in this case it's an egotistical billionaire with hay for hair that wants to run for president.
Don't fret, though. Our mortificaciones can be soothed with a little song about Laredo from the likes of Rene y Rene. Happy New Music Tuesday, everybody!
I would've posted a new song clip from Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. or Of Montreal, but since Webb County is looking to get a new helicopter, I opted for Explosions In The Sky.
P.S. I'm planning on going to the Rio Grande International Study Center meeting at 6:00 p.m. tonight. Details later tonight.
