El Manana reports on the nagging problem of absentee students at our local schools. J.P. Hector Liendo had his work cut out for him yesterday as he presided over 35 cases, 11 of which involved fifth graders and younger. There was even one kinder and one pre-kinder student in the mix. One mother explained to the judge that she didn't send her child to school because of the cold weather. She was reminded that unless school closes due to inclement weather, she has no reason to keep the child at home.
