Ma'am, Please Let Go Of The Microphone

Last night it looked like Rosie Cuellar-Castillo was headed into a runoff with Juan Caballero in the Municipal Court Judge's race with Rosie getting 35% of the vote.  But Madeline Lopez-Escoto was right on Caballero's heels.  Sure enough, once all the votes were counted early this morning, it looks like the two ladies will face off December 11.

UPDATE:  Fast forward to the 5 o'clock newscast Wednesday afternoon where lead anchor, Tim Gutierrez, did something odd:  he held up a copy of the Laredo Times and pointed out that the newspaper printed misleading information.  The final numbers showed that Lopez-Escoto and Cuellar-Castillo would be in the runoff.  But what appeared in the LMT this morning showed Cuellar and Caballero facing off.

I really don't see the point in doing what KGNS did.  They were calling out the LMT for giving us information based on the numbers that were available last night.  Sure it could've been worded differently by the writer but if anyone (us) is going to call out the LMT, it certainly can't be KGNS, not with all the errors that occur on their newscast on a daily basis.  And to this day, I haven't seen any story on the Abe Martinez/LMC investigation by Pro8news.

What's more disheartening is that Ann took the lead on the story on the evening news.
We all watched closely for those final totals and while early voting seemed to show one thing, the actual totals showed something different.  Even a local newspaper printed Juan Caballero and Rosie Cuellar-Castillo as the candidates for a runoff...
(sigh)
