Getting Rid Of Medicaid

If this won't get people out to protest, I don't know what will.
Some Republican lawmakers — still reveling in Tuesday’s statewide election sweep — are proposing an unprecedented solution to the state’s estimated $25 billion budget shortfall: dropping out of the federal Medicaid program.
The democrats' health care overhaul prevents insurance companies from dropping people who all of a sudden get too expensive to cover.  Here in deep red Texas we're taking a page from the insurance industry:  drop people when their most vulnerable in order to save our skins.

I guess this is their idea of discretionary spending.  When we tighten our belts, we forgo the HBO, eat out less or hang on to our wardrobes a little longer.  Texas lawmakers get all medieval in this sumbitch.
