Of the 12 local school board candidates, Hector “Tito” Garcia and Pat Campos have received the most political contributions, including pledges, according to the campaign finance reporting period ending Oct. 4.

Good for them.  They've got their little war chests nice and full.  But......
Campos, meanwhile, received her biggest contributions from individuals who work for companies contracted, either currently or in the past, by UISD.
I'm a big fan of transparency.  While this kind of monetary transaction might be legal (I'm guessing), it does seem a little inappropriate.

Here's a campaign ad I'd like to see on t.v.

'My name is Pat Campos and I want to keep UISD moving forward.  You can help me continue my work of bringing integrity and honor to the UISD school board.  A vote for me is a vote for the children.  Oh, and by the way, big companies are going to fund my campaign but I'll reward them later with big ass contracts.  My name is Pat Campos and I approve this message.'
