The City Council approved Landscapes Unlimited and Robert Trent Jones II to design and build a $6.6 million municipal golf course Monday, despite complaints from some council members that there was not enough information made available about other finalists.

With Caddyshack being one of my favorite movies it's a wonder I never took up golf.  Perhaps it's the pace of the game that's kept me away.  Whatever the case, perhaps I should look into buying some plaid pants and a set of clubs to take advantage of the waste of space facilities offered in Laredo.  I mean, I shouldn't knock something before I try it.

The drawback would be that I would have more junk to store and I would probably get horrible golf-themed gifts on holidays.  Who needs that?  For retirement, maybe I should take up a less strenuous activity like fishing or playing checkers at the Jarvis Plaza.  Hell, there's always bird watching.  On second thought, screw this new golf courseWho needs it?!!
