If you've caught any Spanish television lately while visiting your mother as she was watching her novelas, you probably saw a Shakira "Waka Waka" commercial for the World Cup. Now it's going to be everywhere, so brace yourself or just dance along.
Friday Mexico takes on the host country at 8:30am Central time, and I know a lot of people around here will be waking up early to wear their red, white, and green. And there will surely be many TV's set outside at night for the carne asadas as the action continues.
I'm not exactly sure how soccer works, much less the World Cup rules. The extent of my knowledge is that many of the soccer athletes are very attractive. Feel free to give me pointers like what are the yellow and red flags for, how many times does a team have to win to advance, etc. Apparently the World Cup lasts an entire month, so I may learn something in that time.
Final Update: Mexico 1 - South Africa 1 (Draw)
