LaSanbe would like to pay tribute to media giant, Bill Moyers, who recently retired from weekly television. In 1979 Mr. Moyers reported for CBS on the corruption taking place in Laredo. He interviewed J.C. Martin, and Lawrence Barry. It was at that time that Aldo Tatangelo was about to start his reign as mayor of the Gateway City.
Under the patron system, good connections brought barrels of federal money into Laredo; $107 million in '76 alone. But there is little to show for it.
