Unbelievably, today marks the 15th anniversary of the death of Selena Quintanilla Perez. Had she lived she would be two weeks shy of her 39th birthday this year.
Personally I was not a fan of her music. It wasn't until after she died that I became more familiar with it. Her murder was such a tragedy because she was so young, she had just been recently married, she was at the height of her Tejano success, and she was about to crossover into English recordings.
Her fans will always remember her live performances, especially her final concert at the Houston Astrodome in that famous purple outfit which she would later be buried in.
Rest in peace forever Selena.
