Rio Bravo's New Firetruck
I traveled ten miles south this morning to Rio Bravo to see the unveiling of their new fire engine. They acquired this new rig through a grant from the Dept. of Homeland Security.
Chief Javier Estrada, in white shirt, said that they started out in 1995 with a pick-up truck and a large water container to put out fires for the community.
Now they'll be better equipped to put out fires in Rio Bravo, as well as the neighboring town of El Cenizo, and areas along Highway 83.
Also pictured are: Sheriff-elect Martin Cuellar, volunteer fire department staff, U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar, and Rio Bravo Mayor Juan Gonzalez.
