Monthly budget

My recent electric bill left me stunned.
Cortez said the fact that temperatures for most of June was 97 degrees or hotter
and the price of natural gas skyrocketing 60 percent higher than last summer
were big reasons for the high bills.

My bill is $74 more than last month. And my wife starts her month-long summer vacation today, so she and the youngin' will be home all day.

I can handle the price of gasoline by riding my bicycle or motorcycle to work, but it's the light bill hikes, and milk prices that sting. Damnit.

  1. Too much sugar in milk. Go with cottage cheese.

  2. OK. Let's hear it: how much?

  3. Dude, I need my fat free milk to soak my Cheerios.
And now that you mention it, I haven't had cottage cheese in a while. Time to go shopping.

$222 is my most recent light bill.
That's the highest its ever been.

I overheard a doctor a while back say that he was used to an $800 summer light bill. I almost passed out.

  4. There's the catch, it says 'fat free' but milk contains about 15G of sugar per serving. Sugar is the silent killer. It turns to fat when you put it inside your mouth. You'll then get diabetes and lose your limbs.

You need to take better care of yourself.

  5. I'm on it.

I had some blood drawn a couple of weeks ago at a health fair.

My fasting glucose was 81, and my cholesterol was 164.
Diabetes does not run in my family.

The bad news is that I'm anemic. i gave a little extra at the last blood drive.
Anyway, my hemoglobin is 10.9, and my hematocrit is 33.6.

    I'm 38 and I can kick!!!
